(Independent Software Verification and Validation) независимая верификация и аттестация ПОпроизводится организацией IV&V под эгидой NASA - с целью повышения качества критически важных программных систем для космических полётов; независимые группы специалистов, не участвующие в разработках, анализируют и оценивают различные категории ПО (интерактивное ПО для человека, ПО для роботов, инструментальное ПО, средства анализа данных) на всех этапах их жизненных циклов: концепции, требования, проектирование, кодирование, тестирование, эксплуатация.
